Breast Massage submitted by Gillian Walker
Breast massage is an important part of a women’s health, but so often over looked or forgotten about.
Benefits of breast massage include:
- A decrease in pain, tenderness and swelling.
- An increase in milk production and other important female hormones.
- Clears toxins from the lymphatic system (which is very helpful for women with cancer)
- Helps to keep breasts perky
In some cases the breast tissue covers a large area of the chest, covering muscles such as the “pecs”, serratus anterior and intercostals. These muscles can become strained and sore, having the breast tissue manipulated makes it easy for your therapist to reach these muscles and decrease any pain or tenderness.
